SAE Alberta Meeting – Natural Gas for Heavy-Duty Tractors – Feb 20, 2019

Please join us for the February 2019 SAE Alberta meeting in the Papaschase Room at the University of Alberta Faculty Club. We are pleased to have both Dr. Daniel Handford and Dr. David Checkel to jointly present on Natural Gas Vehicle technology (see abstract attached below).

Seating is limited. Please register your attendance as we need to confirm numbers for the meal in advance with the Faculty Club by February 17, 2019. Vegetarian meal option is also available.

Parking is available in V-Lot at the University of Alberta.

Pricing of the tickets are:

  • $10 for SAE student members or current students.
  • $25 for SAE members, and
  • $35 for guests.

Dr. Checkel has 29 years of combustion and emissions research experience at the University of Alberta before going into full time consulting. Dr. Handford is currently the lead engineer at Innovative Fuel Systems (IFS), a startup that is focused on developing natural gas dual-fuel technology for heavy-duty Diesel tractors. Their presentation will focus on dual-fuel natural gas technology as an attractive alternative in the heavy-duty diesel engine market to reduce fuel costs.
